This book is one of the most insightful books I've read on parenting in a long time. What's amazing is the depth of advice and examples that are given. This author, Thomas J. Zirpoli, Ph.D., does not waste time in getting to the things that parents want to know when they are facing some issue with their child.
He covers everything from small children to college-age children. He gives real-world advice that makes sense, advice that can be followed whether you are a parent, a grandparent, a babysitter, or a childcare provider. If you love children, he speaks to you with this book and his practical list of things that actually do work. I used some of these techniques (and I thought I knew everything about child rearing) and they really do work.
If you're having problems with your child's behavior, if you're coping with temper tantrums (and who hasn't with a child), if you feel you're losing touch with your teenagers, if you feel like you're losing your temper or yelling all the time, before you put your child on a medication for ADD/ADHD, I urge you to read this book.
