1001 Healthy Baby Answers is a wonderful reference manual that can be relied upon for authoritative and up-to-date information on 1001 ailments that affect children from infants to teenagers. As I leafed through the pages and read the information that interested me, I was impressed with the depth of information that was offered in a simple-to-understand way.
The book is separated into three parts. The first part is comprised of common conditions in newborns, the second is a much larger section on common conditions in children and adolescents, and the last part is a much smaller section about choosing a pediatrician.
Each condition is first clearly defined in each chapter. Following the definition is a series of several questions that a parent might want to ask their child's pediatrician. The questions are then answered by a specialist in a general way (since each child and their condition may widely differ).
The book is not designed to list symptoms or diagnose a problem. Rather, it is outlined to help a parent know better how to deal with a condition that has already been determined to exist. It is a wonderful tool that will help equip parents with a list of important questions to ask at a doctor's visit, or to use as a reference tool to help answer questions that you may have forgotten to ask.
I found myself interested just reading through some common ailments and equipping myself with the knowledge of signs to look for and questions to ask the doctor if the situation ever came about. I personally used the book to help me better understand my daughter's cradle cap and to know how to handle it.
