Got Discipline Review
An education coordinator recommended this book to me. I finally got around to reading it. It is a very quick read. It took me one week to read this. It can probably take some fast readers only one day. The author understands emotion and what schools are looking for to such a great degree. No mumbo-jumbo or overly explaining of things, just straight to the point throughout from beginning to end. Concrete examples of not just what to do, but how to do it. For instance, telling a student's parents that so and so's behavior of "dancing intentionally out of turn in the class does not enhance the learning of the class or your child," as opposed to "your child is disrupting the class." It references The First Days of Schools, but just does a better job of giving a person the advice they need for someone who is better at their content than classroom management particularly.
