This clinical guideline book has to be one of the least helpful out there. I got this book as it was recommended by my school, and I was excited because it was so current. However, it doesn't have guidelines for common patient presentations! There are nice OB/GYN sections, but the other sections give you guidelines for random things.
Example...the section for "common" pediatric presentations includes things like: atopic dermatitis, childhood depression, child maltreatment, failure to thrive, and urinary incontinence in children. When I think of "common" presentations I think of: cough/URI, abdominal pain, constipation, rash, fever....
It's the same for adult "common" presentations: viral hepatitis, epilepsy, domestic violence, neck pain, HIV infected patients...?
There have to be better, more applicable, books out there. Other than the GYN and OB sections which are appropriate and thorough, this book was a waste of my money!
